The Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development
(MARD) announced that the annual Craft Village Fair 2012 will be held at
Hoa Binh Square, Nam Dinh province, on September 25-30.
The
fair, made up of more than 300 stands, aims to boost trade and tourism
activities, popularise images of craft villages and their products, as
well as honouring local craftsmen. It will also contribute to preserving
and developing national cultural identities. An Van Khanh,a senior MARD official, said that the fair will display and sell products from various crafts, demonstrate craft making skills, introduce traditional craft villages then and now, and exhibit from several localities.
During the fair, the final round of the 9th Vietnam Handicraft Contest will take place. The prizewinning products will be displayed at a special area to draw visitors’ attention.
